Once the county landfill closes, the county plans to work with the Rockbridge Resource Recovery to ship our trash to a landfill in Amelia County from a transfer station. They would also go through the trash to get extra recyclables. Using a transfer station could mean higher real estate taxes for Lexington and the county but also a higher trash collection fee for Buena Vista residents.
